Getting to Know Us!

The Bourbon Baptist Church in Bourbon, Illinois, was organized on April 6, 1867 as an independent, Bible-believing and practicing, New Testament church. We are affiliated with the American Baptist Association.

For 141 years we have been striving to spread the message of hope in Christ. “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of truth.” II Timothy 2: 3-4.
It is God’s desire that all mankind be saved, yet the message of Christ doesn’t stop there.

It is also God’s will that those who are saved come to the knowledge of the truth, which does not lie in the thoughts and dreams of mankind, but in the Word of God itself! Our sole rule of faith and practice lies in the inspired Scriptures of God, which express His plans, thoughts, and will.

We follow the Lord in baptism by immersion.
